Puzzles such as these come along with a great deal of stress, and the participants were given different songs to listen to while the researchers measured the activity of the brain, as well as heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing rate.

According to the lead scientist in this research, the top song, called Weightless, resulted in 65% reduction in anxiety with the participants, and a 35% reduction in their usual physiological resting rates.

This is quite a remarkable discovery, isn’t it? Equally interesting is that the song was actually designed solely for this purpose.

The gropu of people that created the song Weightless did it with collaboration with sound therapists. They  have carefully arranged the music, all parts of it, so that it could slow down the heart rate and lower the levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

On the other hand, when it comes to lowering the levels of anxiety, the stakes could not go higher. The constant feeling of stress increases the health risks such as obesity, depression, heart disease, asthma, gastrointestinal issues and so on.

To make things a bit more disturbing,   a recent study showed that the constant elevated levels of stress contribute to more deaths, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes or influenza.In todays world of constant stress, the science is able to make things clear – if you want to maintain a body and a mind that will last, you have to give them a rest.
