The leaves of the drumstick plant are consumed either raw in salads, tossed into blender drinks or steamed like spinach, the leaves make an excellent green vegetable, and are pleasing in flavor. Also you can eat seed pods exactly as you would eat green beans, they are delicious eaten raw, right from the trees or they can be cooked and eaten as any vegetable. The older pods taste like fresh asparagus, and can be substituted for that vegetables in recipes.
