People have been using marijuana for many purposes for centuries back. The oldest written record of the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes goes back to 2727 B. C, in Central Asia.

Aside from that, cannabis was used by the Ancient Egyptians to treat glaucoma and inflammation and also by the Greeks who used it to treat earaches and swelling.

There are records of early Americans using this plant to treat depression.

Drug Classification Halts Use

The Congress prohibited the use of cannabis for therapeutic and recreational reasons, with the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937.

Later on, because of its content marijuana was classified as a Schedule I substance under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.

With this classification cannabis was treated as a drug equal as heroin, and it was stated that it contains a high potential for abuse.

Other drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine were disallowed for free use as well, but still can be taken under a doctor’s supervision.

They were classified as Schedule II drugs. Anabolic steroids and Valium Drugs felled under Schedule III and IV drugs. Schedule V drugs were analgesics, which are the most used meds in the world.

In Support of Therapeutic Use

In order to defend the criminalization of marijuana, federal lawmakers use this outdated drug classification. There are very little scientific grounds to support this classification but still, cannabis has been prohibited for 75 years.

However, experts and researchers began to research the medical values of cannabis. Only 1/3 of the 20, 000 reviews and studies on cannabis have been published in the last 4 years.

Due to the fact that people are becoming more aware of the various benefits of marijuana, at this moment marijuana is legally allowed for use in 20 states and the District of Columbia.

Today, there has been strong and growing trend in acceptance of marijuana, because of the new scientific evidence that indicate that marijuana has powerful medicinal properties which shouldn’t be ignored.

The debate goes on to the both state and federal levels, but still there is a big change in the perception of this plant.

Ray Cavanaugh, the National Director of the American Alliance for Medical Cannabis (AAMC), wrote an article in a 2002 named “The Plight of the Chronically Ill” and posted it on the AAMC website.

In this article he said that many of the chronically ill people have successfully sought reliefs with the use of medical cannabis.

He referred to it as an age-old remedy, which shows today its efficacy. He then continued by saying that hundreds of thousands of the sick replaced disabling narcotics and the psychotropic medications with cannabis.

Also, people who had AIDS were able to gain weight and lower the medication, cancer patients didn’t feel nausea from chemotherapy, patients with spinal injuries began to walk by them self and people once disabled from crippling psychiatric disorders and addictions, returned to sanity and society, and all of that with the help of the cannabis plant. Therefore, the anecdotal evidence is now overwhelming.

Two years later, in March 2004, former US Surgeon General and doctor Joycelyn Elders wrote an article in the Providence Journal by the title “Myths about Medical Marijuana”.

In this article it was said that there is overwhelming proof that marijuana can help in relieving certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by illnesses like cancer, multiple sclerosis and AIDS, or by the strong drugs that are sometimes used to treat them.

The doctor said that marijuana is far less toxic when compared with many of the prescribed every day drugs and is remarkably safe.

A few days before that, the American Nurses Association (ANA) released an article “Position Statement: Providing Patients Safe Access to Therapeutic Marijuana/Cannabis” on their website.

In this article they recognized that patients should have safe access to therapeutic cannabis.

It was stated that cannabis has been used in medicinal purpose for centuries and it is effective in treating an extensive range of symptoms and conditions.

In 2010, after conducting a series of clinical trials, researchers from the University of California Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research, announced that they discovered that cannabis has great results on patients, especially when it’s inhaled.

Thanks to these three trials, marijuana was recognized as a potential so called “first line treatment”, especially for patient suffering from cancer-related diseases and neuropathy.

Neuropathy is a type of pain that is related to diabetes, spinal cord injuries, cancer, HIV/AIDS and other severe conditions.

The trials showed that marijuana was more successful in controlling and reducing the pain than the available medication for that.

The research of marijuana and its effect did not stop there. It was spread worldwide and there have been a lot of new studies and trials almost every day now.

In Germany, there have been over 37 trials which included over 2,500 subjects. Most of the trials focus on the safety and benefits of marijuana.

This plant has been checked and inspected in almost every possible way. In relation to that, before any FDA- approved drugs are released on the market, they are subject to far fewer controls and trials.

Opposite to that, marijuana has been scrutinized starting from its healing capacity in conditions like chemotherapy and nausea and all the way to its capacity to eradicate many diseases.

Surprisingly, one of the top qualities of marijuana is suppressing of Alzheimer’s disease symptoms.

Additionally, it showed great success in the treatment of other diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease and multiple sclerosis.

Cannabis and Coconut Oil

If you don’t want to inhale it, one of the best ways to medically use this plant is by mixing cannabis with coconut oil. That will provide direct contact with the liver and cannabis will be rapidly processed through your body.

Coconut oil is healthy due to the high levels of lauric acid, and also it has a lot of the essential fatty acids that bind cannabinoids from the cannabis successfully.

Lauric acid is considered a miracle compound and is almost impossible to be found in natural conditions.

It is presented in mother’s milk, but small amounts can be found in butterfat and larger amount in palm kernel and coconut oil.

In your body, lauric acid transforms into monolaurin which is an antibacterial, antiviral and antiprotozoal substance.

Therefore, due to the fact that monolaurin is basically a monoglyceride, it can treat lipid-coated viruses like, influenza, measles, herpes, HIV, and many other pathogenic bacteria.

True Stories

In order to inspire people to relief their doubts about the use of cannabis, Stan and Barb Ruther, both cancer survivors decided to share their story.

Barb was diagnosed with two bouts of breast cancer. 20 years ago, Stan was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, but soon after the treatment the disease disappeared.

Unfortunately, in 2011 the disease came back again. Then his cancer was more aggressive and has spread to the lungs and the brain.

Because of the seriousness of his condition, Stan started with radiation and chemotherapy treatment. During this time his family searched for a more natural way to improve his quality of life.

Then, they discovered cannabis and today they refer to it as their golden ticket.

They have heard from many people before that it was very effective in cancer treatment so they decided to give it a try.

Their daughter, Corinne and her husband have discovered that a coconut oil infused cannabis is the best option for fighting with the disease.

After two weeks of the treatment, there was already a big improvement. Stan got rid of the oxygen tank he was attached to and regained weight.

A couple of months later, a brain scan showed that Stand was cancer-free.
Therefore, today the Rutners are spreading the story of the amazing effect of cannabis and coconut oil in the treatment against cancer.

Thanks to that, they are both alive today.John, the Rutners son-in-law said the following: “There is no doubt in my mind that cannabis pulled my father-in-law out of the wasting stages of cancer and enabled him to gain strength and in turn fight this horrible cell malfunction with success.

While many would say that the chemo and radiation could have played apart, he would never have lived long enough to find out without cannabis oil.”
