Coughing is a natural way of removing the accumulated mucus or phlegm from the lungs. Even though the colds and coughs are mainly harmless, they can be very irritating and unpleasant.

The children are more prone to these health problems because they have a weak immune system. Most commonly, these issues are treated with cough-relieving syrups.

However, nearly all syrups on the market contain codeine and dextromethorphan, ingredients which can be responsible for causing various side effects, such as rapid heartbeat, headaches, and drowsiness.

Instead of taking these cough syrups, you should try using natural homemade wraps that will relieve your cough in just one night.

Preparation of Honey Ginger Wrap

Honey is commonly used as a natural remedy for promoting detoxification and treating dry skin.

This ingredient is also highly beneficial for soothing colds and coughs since it has an ability to remove the accumulated mucus from the lungs.

The ginger, like the honey, is extremely effective in relieving chest congestion and soothing sore throat.

These honey ginger wraps are very easy to be made, and they can be used for treating both children and adults.

Ingredients:

  • Honey
  • Ginger juice
  • Coconut oil
  • Flour
  • Gauze
  • Bandage
  • Napkin

Instructions:

Mix the flour and the honey until you get a paste. While doing so, try not to touch it. Add some coconut oil and some fresh ginger juice to the paste.

Then, re-roll the mixture in flour. Apply this paste on a napkin, and wrap it with gauze. Afterward, place the wrap on your chest or back and secure it with a bandage. You should apply the wrap before going to bed and leave it on overnight.

However, if this wrap is for a child, you should put it 2-3 hours before going to sleep because, even though this treatment has no side effects, it can cause some irritation on their gentle skin.
